Fluency across a whole small company
Sector Mid-market services business, around one hundred and twenty staff.
The situation
AI use was scattered and private. A few keen people used it well, most did not use it at all, and nobody could see what was working. There was activity and no shared capability.
What CAPIO did
This was the operating partnership in full. We acted as the company's fractional AI leadership, ran weekly fluency sessions, stood up a light AI committee, and set the rules for what AI would and would not touch. Then we helped non-technical teams build their own small assistants for their own tasks, and named a group of internal champions to carry it.
The outcome
- Most staff using AI in their work each week within a single quarter *representative*
- Around thirty small team-built assistants live across finance, sales and operations *representative*
- A few hours a week given back to each person, and a team that can now govern its own use *representative*
The point was never a clever tool. It was that our own people now lead this.
- Turning AI activity into a governed programme
- Compliance and competence as the growth engine
- Seeing the whole field, not five percent of it
- An expert made available at scale
- The support desk that answers itself
- An expert on tap for a small firm
- Catching fraud before it lands
- Contracts read in seconds
- More jobs per van, fewer miles
- Cutting the energy bill on what you already run
- A small dev team that ships like a bigger one
- Keeping subscribers who were quietly leaving
- Lifting the whole field, not just the top performers
- Buying at the right moment, not out of habit
